Description
Reduce infection using The SILVERCELL Alginate Dressing by Johnson & Johnson. It is used as a primary dressing that is an effective barrier to bacterial penetration. The barrier functions of the dressing may help reduce infection in moderate to heavily exuding partial and full-thickness wounds including: pressure ulcers; venous ulcers; diabetic ulcers; donor sites; traumatic and surgical wounds. This Silver dressing is a sterile, non-woven pad composed of high tensile strength alginate, carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) and silver coated nylon fibers. Contains elemental silver (8%) as a sustained release formulation. The sustained release of silver aids the dressing in creating an antimicrobial environment. Antimicrobial properties are built-in through the use of X-STATIC Silver Fibers. Alginate forms a gel on contact with exudate. Cover with a non-occlusive secondary dressing. Do not use on third-degree burns or with patients with known sensitivity to silver or alginates.
